At once I'm feeling badly for him and then very proud that he's hiding the turmoil and still try to go about his daily life. How many young people have to be the "adult" while the adults are oblivious to the emotional scars that are being made to look normal?
I just finished Chapter 1 of Tyler, and I really enjoyed it! I was caught off guard by the initial switch(read to find out but, that unexpected shift made the story even more engaging. It kept me curious to figure out which setting represented the true reality, and I loved piecing everything together through Tyler’s daydreams and glimpses into his home life. The writing gave me a clear sense of who Tyler is—he’s not necessarily the toughest, but he has a strong heart and isn’t afraid to stand up for his loved ones or the underdog. I already feel connected to his character and can’t wait to see how he grows as the story unfolds (and hopefully, gets a little payback on that brother-in-law!)
